Freedom is more than a promise — it’s a practice. And in 2026, we’re building it together.
The Summit for Religious Freedom (SRF), convened by Americans United, returns to the greater Washington, D.C., area next April 25-27, 2026, with a powerful new theme: Freedom – Reclaim it. Defend it. Build it together. In a moment when rights, democracy and public education are being tested, this theme calls us to deepen our commitment to inclusive religious freedom and the work required to protect it.
SRF isn’t just a conference. It’s where people of all religions and none come together to connect, strategize and imagine what real freedom looks like — freedom without favor and equality without exception. Across generations and movements, we gather to reclaim what’s been taken, defend what’s under attack and build what our democracy needs to thrive.
SRF 2026 will bring together mainstage conversations, breakout sessions and community spaces designed to support learning, collaboration and reflection. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements on our speakers and panelists; meanwhile, you can read a recap of last year’s Summit here. Whether you’re new to this work or deeply rooted in it, SRF creates space for connection, strategy and shared purpose.
Early-bird registration for SRF 2026 is now live – register today and save! Head to thesrf.org to learn more about ticket options, rates, add-ons, and accessibility information about the in-person summit in Alexandria, Va., or the virtual SRF for a curated selection of online sessions.
In-person participants can also register for the Organizing Institute – a hands-on, pre-summit training designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skill, and connections needed to defend church-state separation and inclusive religious freedom in their communities – and Hill Day, an opportunity for Summit participants to bring our collective voice directly to lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
The Call for Proposals also is officially open. If you have an idea, story, strategy or session concept that connects to the fight for inclusive religious freedom and church–state separation, we want to hear from you.
Submit your session proposal by Jan. 16, 2026. To keep SRF accessible, we’re offering scholarships for both in-person and virtual attendees. If financial support would make it possible for you to join us, we encourage you to apply. Priority deadline is Jan. 19, 2026; applications may be considered on a rolling basis after the deadline if funds remain. You can also support access to the Summit by adding a donation to the SRF Scholarship Fund during registration.
Freedom is something we practice, defend and pass forward. We hope to see you at SRF 2026.
