Americans United is preparing to argue Kennedy v. Bremerton School District before the U.S. Supreme Court. This case is about a coach who violated the religious freedom of students by pressuring them to join his public prayers at the 50-yard line at public high school football games. Church-state separation means that no one should ever have to choose between their religious freedom and being part of the team.
Attorneys for the opposing side have continued to spin a deceitful narrative of the facts in this case. Now they’re counting on the Court to upend more than a half century of settled law to strip students and families of their religious freedom.
