AU Relaunches Speakers Bureau On New Website

  Liz Hayes

The Americans United Speakers Bureau has been relaunched on the upgraded au.org website.

The Speakers Bureau features members of AU’s Board of Trustees and National Leadership Council (NLC), as well as AU chapter leaders and staff, who are available to speak about church-state separation issues to chapters and other organizations.

Speakers include Rabbi Merrill Shapiro, a member and past president of AU’s Board of Trustees, the president and founder of AU’s Atlantic Coast Chapter in Florida and a plaintiff from the now-closed McCall v. Scott lawsuit that challenged a private school voucher program in Florida; and Katherine Stewart, an NLC member, journalist and author of the book The Good News Club: The Christian Right’s Stealth Assault on America’s Children.

“The Speakers Bureau is a great resource for AU chapters and other local organizations that need speakers for their programs,” said David Morris, AU’s Interim Field Director. “It’s also an opportunity for AU to engage with the community and spread the word about our work.”
