Okla. Legislators Fund Study On ‘Radical Islam’

An Oklahoma state representative says he will file legislation next year to prohibit “terrorist organizations” from being active in Oklahoma, news outlets are reporting. 

State Rep. John Bennett (R-Sallisaw) led an interim study Oct. 25 in the House Judiciary and Civil Procedure Committee about “radical Islam” and groups he perceives as dangerous.

Bennett listed Hamas, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the North American Islamic Trust and the Islamic Society of North America as organizations that must be opposed because they “are here to destroy us.”

A-OK!: Judge Puts Temporary Block On Anti-Shariah Amendment

We have some good news out of Oklahoma today.  A federal judge has put a temporary stop to the so-called “Save Our State Amendment” – Oklahoma’s anti-Shariah amendment.

The measure, which passed with 70 percent of the vote on Nov. 2, revises the state constitution so that “courts shall not look to the legal precepts of other nations or cultures. Specifically, the courts shall not consider international law or Sharia Law.”
