The bimonthly meeting of the Delaware Valley Americans United's Philadelphia Committee will take place at 7pm on Thursdays every other month.

The Thursday January 19 2012 meeting, at 7pm in the Parkway Central Library, 19th & Vine Streets in Philadelphia PA, will feature John Seager, President of the Population Connection. Since 1968, Population Connection (formerly Zero Population Growth or ZPG) has been America's voice for population stabilization. Population Connection works to ensure that every woman around the world who wants to delay or end her childbearing has access to the health services and contraceptive supplies she needs in order to do so. Typically, when woman have access to affordable birth control, they have fewer children, regardless of income or educational levels.

John Seager is the President and CEO of Population Connection – having first joined the organization in 1996. He previously served at the US EPA during the Clinton Administration. John was also Chief of Staff for former US Rep. Peter H. Kostmayer (D-PA) who was a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs and Interior committees.

A graduate of Trinity College (CT) with a B.A. in Political Science, John travels throughout the US making presentations on global population growth. He visits numerous campuses and other communities to speak as part of a course or in some other venue. John has written articles on population topics ranging from the links to poverty, future outcomes and the concern about population decline in some highly developed nations.

John previously spoke to DVAU's Bucks County Committee in Doylestown on December 13, 2011.
