AU Orange County Chapter presents Hans Johnson on “Confronting Vitriol at School Boards”

Hans Johnson is a 30-year member of Americans United and a long-time friend of the Orange County chapter. In that time, he has tangled with and earned victories against Ralph Reed, the late Rev. Jerry Falwell and Rush Limbaugh, Betsy DeVos, and Ginni Thomas. A leader in LGBTQ+ advocacy for three decades, Hans has trained nearly 500 frontline organizers and worked in nearly all the U.S. states and D.C. He will be discussing, "Confronting Vitriol at School Boards."

AU Orange County Chapter presents Dr. Nancy Watkins on “The Purpose of Public Education”

Nancy Watkins has been an educator for over 30 years as a California public high school teacher and as a site and district administrator. She is the Director of the Educational Doctoral Program and faculty at Cal State Fullerton, and a published author on educational research and commentary and a Fulbright Scholar who studied transitional democracies. She will be speaking on "The Purpose of Public Education.
