West Suburban Chicago AU welcomes Manya Brachear, Religion Reporter for the Chicago Tribune, who will speak on: "A Love Story: One Religion Reporter’s Romance with, The First Amendment."

The event takes place Thursday, January 19, at Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St., Naperville, IL 60565.  The doors open at 7:00 PM for a social and refreshments, and Brachear will begin speaking at 7:45 PM. Miss Brachear joined the Chicago Tribune in June 2003. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University, and has master’s degrees in both journalism, and in religious studies from Columbia University. For more than 20 years, Manya Brachear has carried on a love affair with the First Amendment. After all, without the freedoms it guarantees, she would be without a job. In her talk, she will walk readers through a few specific stories that illustrate how those five freedoms – assembly, religion, petition, speech and press—play a role on the religion beat and enliven democracy at large.

FREE admission, FREE parking and the event is open to the public. Don't miss this exciting presentation. For more information go to http://wsccau.wordpress.com
