The event takes place on Saturday, April 16th at 2:00 PM, at the Irvine Ranch Water District, 15600 Sand Canyon Avenue, Irvine.  Doors open at 1:30 for snacks and socializing;  seating will be on a first-come, first-seated basis.Professor Gonaver was born in Pennsylvania; one branch of her family tree is occupied by Quakers who settled Pennsylvania in the 17th century. She attended a Quaker high school and has considered herself a Quaker Universalist since age 14. She received her B.A. in 1994 from Bryn Mawr College.  After working in the non-profit sector in Philadelphia for a few years, she went to graduate school at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and received her M.A. from the American Studies Program in 2002. She will receive her Ph.D. from the same Program this year.  Currently she teaches an American Experience class at Soka University in Aliso Viejo.
