“The Perils of Politicized Pulpits: Do’s and Don’ts for Houses of Worship”

 

The Delaware Valley AU chapter presents "Religious Freedom Forum: Religious Leaders Discussing Church-State Separation," on Tuesday, September 11, from 1 - 3 PM.  The event takes place at the Ethical Society Building, 1906 Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, PA  19103
 
DVAU’s Clergy Advisory Board is hosting the Forum.  The goal of the event is to increase clergy awareness of, and sensitivity to, church-state issues. Rev. Steven Baines, AU's Assistant Field Director for Religious Outreach will speak.  The event is open to the public and all are welcome. 
 
The speakers, and their topics, are:  Rev. Steven Baines, Director Religious Outreach, Americans United on “The Perils of Politicized Pulpits: Do’s and Don’ts for Houses of Worship”; Hugh Taft-Morales, Leader, Ethical Society of Philadelphia on “Some Ethical Considerations about Church-State Separation”; and Rev. Thomas Beers, Pastor, Central Baptist Church, Wayne, PA on “Thoughts on Religious Freedoms” Reverend Thomas Beers, Pastor, Central Baptist Church, Wayne, PA.
