Charles Gokey is the Steven Gey Fellow at Americans United for Separation of Church and State. He litigates church-state cases at trial and on appeal.
Mr. Gokey earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. He received the ABA/BNA Award for Excellence in Intellectual Property Law, and was Georgetown’s 2013 nominee for the Jan Jancin Award as the top intellectual property student in his class. During law school, Mr. Gokey worked on civil liberties issues with the ACLU, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and Berkman Center for Internet and Society. He received his BA in American Studies, cum laude, from Carleton College.
