Subscribe to RSS - Student Religious Clubs

Under a federal law known as the Equal Access Act, secondary school students have the right to form voluntary religious clubs during non-instructional time if other non-curriculum-related clubs are meeting. Americans United believes that this right should be interpreted broadly. Thus, public schools may not allow religious clubs to meet while denying the same right to atheist clubs or gay-straight alliances. All groups must be treated equally.
