The men and women appointed to serve at the highest levels of federal government should support core constitutional freedoms. Among these is religious liberty, which depends on the separation of church and state. Americans United opposes cabinet-level and other government appointees who use their positions to promote religion. We maintain that all government departments and levels should abide by church-state separation and refrain from meddling in religious affairs.
