The Orange County chapter of Americans United for Separation of Church and State presents Beckie Gomez of the Orange County Department of Education who will speak on “Religion on the Board and in the Schools”; she will focus on important California legislation including the FAIR Education Act which requires that California K-12 schools provide Fair, Accurate, Inclusive and Respectful representations of people with disabilities and people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender in history and social studies curriculum.
The meeting is on August 19th and starts at 1:45 pm with the doors opening at 1:15 pm for socializing and snacks. The meeting is held at the Irvine Ranch Water District Community Room, 15500 Sand Canyon Ave, Irvine 92618.
